nitefisher
this is the time of year to watch your pets while you are tending to your tackle box. i found this out first hand this morning. only haveing my back turned for a couple seconds, costing me a 200$ vet bill the cheapest around with a 6 hour stay because they have to be sadated. like the saying if things can go wrong they will. 200$ wrong and a damper on the fishing trip money. Tonka Boy
Good call. I was out on Osakis opener maybe 8-9 years ago. The boat next to me has a brand new puppy and an open tackle box...well, you can put 2 and 2 together. If I wasn't so easy going that guy in that boat would have had a boat oar across his grill. At least 3-4 boats in the area had their day ruined. It was a group effort to get that puppy calmed down and to the vet.
nitefisher
maybe you should bring that oar this way. i know i won't be doing that stuff again around my dogs. not many people think about this kind of thing till it's to late.have a good openner. ChemE
I walked my dogs around Phalen and Round lakes the other day and couldn't go more than 10 yards without one ending up tangled in some one-who-thinks-I-am-silly's cast off line. Both dogs ended up with a hook in a pad that required minor surgery to remove.
nitefisher
i have been a fisherman for almost 40 years and when i was brought up to not leave things lay around and to leave the spot as if you were not even there. but there are still those with no respect to the enviroment and wildlife.and i guess this will always be and theres nothing we can really do about it. sorry about your dogs,i just went and picked mine up from the vet and if she did'nt learn her lesson i did. never do your tackle box tending in the presents of pets, and 200$ less money in the pocket. a lesson well learned. bgreen82
on top of the pets, be extra careful with little tikes running around. thank god she only got into the spoons i had out that i was changing the treble hooks on so it was a hookless spoon. phew. my fiancee was not happy. needless to say, all tackle work is now done in the garage. nitefisher
thats a good call to, it's just not worth the hassel.taking a little time to be a little more careful should be priority and common sence. who says that an old dog can't learn new tricks.
