I will be going out tuesday night to do a little catfishin'. I know and have the equipment i need and bait and how to fish them (8'-6'' Rod, Mitchell 300x Gold Reel, 8 Pound Iron Silk, Circle Hooks, Barrel Swivel/ Slip Sinker Rig, Crawler/Gut for bait) just wondering mainly how the bite has been on the St. Louis River in Carlton County, or Scanlon Cloquet, Gary/New-Duluth, FonduLac, area. Thanks for the input!

I'm not sure if your #8 Ironsilk will be enough. I've caught some really nice ones "10lb-15lb" on the St. Louis. I personally would go with atleast #15. But for bait cut sucker is hard to beat.
