Timmy - No way! I have seen you golf! They would have to give us a stroke a hole. I couldnt carry you for all 18 holes... lol

Dad hit the road a half hour ago. Hopefully you guys can pick a few fish. I hunted with AB's wife this am. I saw squat. sShe saw two bucks. One a dinky 4pt she passed up at 10 yards and the other was huge, maybe the twin of dads by the way she described it. It was funny hunting with her while Rob watched the kids. He wacked a doe last night...

Fish were picked up at the bar last night . . .not by eveyone though, you had to work at it. I stayed home and had some Father Daughter time . . .well worth it. I believe early is better than later. Although some fish that were picked up later had nothing in their stomachs. I plan on being there tonight . . . after itty bitty round ball time.

Picked up North Shore on my way to fish with Tank and before we let a lure fly, Franky called to let me know he had his limit. Tank had 2 and Phil caught his limit. We drove around the lake, Northshore and I and fished various spots and nothing? Then after I dropped off Greg I shot over to the barge canal and caught a short eye and was getting ready to call it a night. So packed up and drove by Schneibles and it was loaded with guys and I thought well let me throw a cast and low and behold on the third cast a nice 19" and I noticed a truck that parked next to my van and it was Donny and Shawn.. Well invigorated with that first keeper and a couple of the boys showing up we went to work. Well I should say Shawn and I went to work as Donny couldn't get nothing more than a couple of short hits but Shaun and I started catching fish and by 11:50 I had my limit so I shot down for a coffee and came back and by that time Shawn had his so we started the 2nd run and Shawn clipped 3 more and I two more so I ended up bringing home these 5. Shawn caught a dandy pictured below I would say a solid 24" but I didn't tape her out. We caught a majority of fish on Blue and Black size 10 X-Raps. Slow cranked across the channel. Now I will say this the winds were out of the west at 15 ph with 20 mph gusts and that's when the fishing was at it's finest and then the wind stopped pretty much by 2:15 a.m. and then the bite shut down. All in all a decent night.

Here's Shawn with a nice fish...

Timmy - When I talked to dad last night he only had the two. Sounds like sundown was key then you had to scratch and dig for more fish.

Funny one here. The other day im cruzin around hsolist and find someone selling 4 of those Gander ice rods I love so much, so yesterday before work I put in a bid. Well I won the rods for 20$ plus shipping. Turns out it was BigJohnny that was selling them! Two are going in reserves and two im gonna canabalize by taking about 4 inchec off the front and add one of those St Crox spring bobbers....

I never made it down to Tim's so never got the game plan. Sorry to miss Tank. I saw the same action at Schneibles as I drove by as I was leaving but since I gave Tim the low down on the bar thought it would just make him run all over the place and then end up with zero fish. Early or late sounds like the ticket for now.

Dark Cloud - Hey bud Tank called this morning to get the rest of the report. Too funny you pcking them up from Johnny he's into that hsolist preety good there. I have to try to find that national sporst cat. I got a couple weeks ago I think I saw your rod blanks in there like the two you built for me and I believe the polar gold ahs been brought back by popular demand wink.gif

I just got off the phone with Z and he's hasn't done much fishing but he picked a couple fish last week at the restaurant but got froze out with no jacket and couldn't finish up.

Franky and I were talking eyes this morning as usual and you hit the nail on the head with the early pattern there and that will continue to get earlier and earlier as Shnibs with the right wind will work any time. It was grand central last night there.

North Shore - Hey bud even though the fish weren't willing early I enjoyed getting together and making the rounds and thanks again for the Goose jerky, delicious.

Franky - You know that you are the bartender and I'm the traveler and I'll bet on the traveler 9 times out of 10 wink.gifgrin.gif Just like ice fishing buddy sometimes you gotta cut a bunch of holes grin.gif

Jay,

Yeah that was me selling those rods. I am just selling off some of my 'extra' stuff there on hsolist. I hope that you enjoy them. Heck, I would have giving them to you if I knew that you liked them so much!! Well, I might have said that you need to make one of your customized rods for me in the deal. grin.gif

Hey, on a side note....I was bowhunting in Naples on Friday, and I saw a black bear come within 80 yards or so of my stand. That was in the evening, and let me tell you, I got down a little early. I was by myself hunting, and would never have thought that I would see a bear in that area. It FRECHED me out a little if you know what I mean. grin.gif

Tim you can move or sit . . .but whose using gold and sitting shallow this year??? Had to "entertain" tonight and than fell asleep in the lounge chair so did not make it out . . .thought about it at 11 . . . but the bed looked too good. Looks like hunting weather coming in this Saturday!!! Johnie . . .you must have smelled too perty for the bear. I had 3 sleeping next to my tree stand last year before opening day . . .begged off using the stand as I was scent free and trying to be quite. 2 of the 3 were cubs!!!

Johhny - Paypal is all set. I'll take care of ya well, as I got a killer deal on them and you took a short bath. I know I'll like them I have 6 or 7 already. They are the rods dad and I use 90% of the time.

Bears can certainly raise the hair on your neck. 5 or 6 years ago we went on a bear bowhunt to New Bruinswick. Getting ready to leave your stand at dark and wait in the middle of no where to be picked up by the guide was nerve racking to say the least. Leaving the stand and knowing bears were around and you were walking out a trail covered in fresh [PoorWordUsage] will get your blood flowing. We both took small 150lb bears. Four out of the 6 of us got bears and the other two either missed or passed on em....

Why wait till 3 a.m. when Tyler and I can wrap up by 11:30 p.m. Schnibs was a slow pick and we caught two there so we headed over to the bar and we got almost all from the confessional but Tyler grabbed this nice 22" in the Marina. North Shore was open for delivery wink.gif

Franky thanks for the tip wink.gif

Gut shot just to give insurance man the full monty, he likes seeing fat Oneida walleyes wink.gif

BTW Schneibles called the tropers and kicked out all the Bosnians, the owner had enough and rightfully so they trash her property and leave stuff for us to pick-up. It doesn't matter though cause they will just come right back after she closes. mad.gif

Jay,

Mailed those rods to you yesterday Priority Mail, so you should get them soon. Thanks for the prompt payment.

Yeah, I know I took a little bath on them, but I am selling off some of my stuff that I don't use too much. I still have I think 4 of those rods to use.

At least I sold them to somebody that I know.....I hope that you will enjoy them.

Looking forward to the ice season, but much more hunting ahead. grin.gif

North Shore, his nephew Jeff and I met at the bar at 10:10 and at exactly 11:10 p.m. I had my limit. Northshore bagged two and Jefrrey well he had compass problems grin.gif The boys left around 12:30 from Schneibles cause ther going back out at 5 a.m. for another goose slaughter. I wen't back down to the bar and had a fish on on the first cast and never landed him after which I proceeded to lose two of my blue husky jerks and that was enough to call her quits. Heres some pics of tonights fish.

BigJohnny - The rods were here when I got out of the woods a few minutes ago. They are exactly what I thought they'd be, I already have 6 of them, lol... Pounders for flys? I have been busy at the tying bench. I'll send ya out a nice selection. Any colors in paticular you like???

The bucks are really movin now. Yesterday my cousin Steve down in PA killed a slammer 12 pt with a 19 inch spread. And just about an hour ago our buddy Rick hunting with AB killed his firts bow buck - a big 8 pt with an 18 inch spread and very long tines... AB said it fealt like we got kicked in the junk. We have been out about 6 days a week each morning and Ricks second time out he kills a whopper.

Heading into work soon for some more OT...

Tim: Always a great evening when we get together for some eyes. To bad they didn't cooperate. Filleting some eyes and of course some birds also. Gotta get you another bag of jerky your next time out. May hit the shore earlier tonight. May stop down and talk to the owner of the rest and see if I can assist her in any way patroling the property.

Greg I was talking with Mario and he has a white restaurant business card signed by the owner authorizing fishing on her property.. If you can pick one up for me if you talk with her she knows who I am she's seen me on her dock quite a few times over the years.

Frank- Remember Wendesday when you saw those guys rippin at Schnibs, that's my neighbor Mario and his Dad, laugh.gif When there laying on the bottom Mario says sometime that's the only thing they'll hit or snag grin.gif

Went to Herbie Robinsons and purchased a couple more husky's, they were out of blue frown.gif and some nat. perch countdowns smile.gif
