Blue Gills

I can find a ton of small blue gills and perch on our lake. However, I can't find any of decent size. I generally find the small ones in the shallow water where a creek runs into our lake. It drops off quickly into 50 ft of water. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the bigger fish?

could be that there arent any of decent size. alot of lakes hold populations of stunted gills

Yes, I know. But I have seen some nice sized Gills at the resort...just have not heard where they have gotten them
