Hey everyone. I just recieved my new thorne bros. perch sweat heart plus rods and I am wondering which spring bobbers will work with them. I looked at the thorne bros. HSOforum and their bobbers don't seem to fit my rods. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also any tips on using a sring bobber would also be appreciated as I have never used one.

Thanks confused.gif

Do you have the regular Perch Sweet Heart or the Outside version? The Thorne Bros spring bobber will fit the regular Perch Sweet Heart, even though it doesn't say it on their website. It won't fit the outside version because of the oversized guides, same with the walleye rods and up.

So, the Thorne Bros spring bobber will fit the Panfish Sweet Heart, Sweet Thing Plus, Finesse Plus, Sweet Pea and the Perch Sweet Heart...

I would definitely reccomend the spring bobber. It slides right into the rod tip and will fit nice and snug. All you do is run your line through the coil of the spring and then after that right down through the rest of the guides like normal.

I would also get one of the Threaders too, it makes things a whole lot easier when feeding the line through the spring bobber.

Here's a link to both the spring bobber and the Threader...

One thing with this spring bobber though is that it will ice up on cold days, so when fishing in cold conditions its best to be inside a portable when using it.

The spring bobber is going to help you detect more bites, no doubt about that. It will also help you more easily mimic natural movements when jigging. This is due to the fact that the spring will absorb some of the shock when jigging and cause the jig to move with more subtle movements. More quivers and shakes instead of hops and bounces.

I use spring bobbers on a regular basis when targeting panfish and perch in the winter...

Matt,

This is probably a dumb question, but you said that you run your line through your spring bobber then through the guides. Do you run the bobber through the guides as well until it fits into the last guide? confused.gif
