cubbies11
Since we heard bad things about Carlos Avery, I want to know what people think of this spot? Still a bunch of maniacs? If so where do we go and not get teeth or eyes shot out.Cubbies

superfish2
Gores pool is bad on opener. Not rice lake, carlos bad, but still crowded. However there is a lot of room. You can hunt north lake, mud hen lakes, the vermillion river. All the old river channels some beaver ponds. Some you'll need a boat to get other you hike in. I would never hunt carlos or rice lake on opener, I have and would hunt gores pool. You just have to get there early and/or put some miles between you and the parking lot(s). superfish2
Yeah a scouting trip is a good idea. If you are hunting north lake almost everone heads left off the lauch. Go straight across or downstream to one of the points. Not too far though as there is a refugre on the south end. Or put in on the vermillion landing and head to mud hen. Or if you head south off the landing by the bridge there is a lake/backwaters you could hunt.
