Fished Rathbun all day on Labor Day. Day started out a little rough for my dad as we were not able to get minnows at the bait shop.....sign said that no minnows was due to hurricane Katrina....stupid hurricane. ANyway, within 30min we had a double on 'eyes...15 1/2 & 16". Nice eaters. Bite went dead shortly after in that spot so we moved all over the lake. Ended up with a bunch of white bass/wipers, some yellow bass, some gills, a channel cat, a crappie, and a few more 'eyes. Almost a 50fish day but not quite. Bite was pretty good in most areas but the 'eye bite was pretty slow. In all, brought home 3 between 15 & 16" that tasted mighty good for supper last night. A beautiful day to be out and very, very few fishermen and even very few recreationers on the water.
