bluegill56
My son returned from Alaska this week and brought back some halibut. Does anyone have any recipes as to how to grill or bake it? Thanks for any info.
LABS4ME
Lay a sheet of foil on the grill, butter both sides of the fillet, sprinkle on some lawry's salt and garlic powder, grill till the fillet begins to split slightly, turn over and cook another couple minutes depending on thickness of fillet, squeeze fresh lemon over the fillets the last minute or two. Serve piping hot.... Easy and quick!Good Luck!Ken
spudhauler
My recipe is very similar to last post but here goes. In tin foil, place halibut, pats of butter, onion slices, lemon slices, and your preferred seasonings. I like lemon pepper and some form of garlic. I wrap tightly in foil, flipping once. I use a formula of 15 minutes total grill time per 1 inch thickness of fillet, this would vary of course by differnt temps on different grills. I brought back 100 lbs of halibut fillets, and I have yet to cook it anyway that was not delicious. In other words, I don't think you can screw up halibut, Enjoy!! DTro
Do a search on this topic for about the last 3 years. There are some great recipes. My parents recently returned from Alaska with a bunch for me. I have never eaten Halibut. I picked out a beer batter recipe from one of the threads. I get to cookin and wouldn't ya know it, not a beer to be found . I decided to use a Dr Pepper. It ended up being the best fish I ever had. It reminded me of chicken, being it was so white and firm.....mmmmmm.
