Line for Jigging pole?

I bought a G-Loomis IMX 7ft light,fast action for jigging eyes.What would be the best line to put on this rod? I have always used Fireline,but should I be using something different? THANKS

Its all up to the fisherman and everyone has there favorites. For me its power pro for braided line. Seems to hold up better. What I really like to use on my fast tip jigging rod is 6lb Maxima line. I landed a 59" sturgeon on it, works for me.

I run 8# test, 1# diameter Power Pro and really like it. Great sesitivity.

The bad thing about braids is that when you feel the fish, the fish feels you. Also, it takes some practice not to set the hook too hard and not pull the jig out. I actually started using gold mono line on my jig rods and love it. You can see those bites on the fall. When it's windy while pitching shallow, being able to see the line is huge. I was hesitant at first because I thought that the fish would see it, but I have caught just as many fish as the guy next to me using clear mono. This is in less than 4ft of water also. Fishing deep in the fall doesn't matter because at 25+ft, color can't be seen anyway.
