Can any handheld GPS units take MMC cards?

I know for a fact that most, if not all of Lowrance's Ifinder line will take MMC cards

When you look at a card, there should be a list of the compatable units. Not all the units can read all of the cards. For example, a Basic i-finder will read LakeMaster Pro card but not a Navionics card.
