Flasher feature on Lowrance X67C

I own a Lowrance X67C color sonar and it has a flasher feature/mode. Is this a legitimate tool? Can it be/is it as effective as say a Vexilar? Or is this just an eyecandy feature?

It is a nice feature, it is real time and has great target seperation, It is diffently not eyecandy. The X67 can also be used for icefishing and performs very well.

Wow, thanks for the info. That's great to know. I am just startingto get into ice fishing and have been fishing blind without a locator. (except for the night that my wife kicked my battery operated camping lantern down the hole. We saw everything...lol).

I would get the ice tranducer that is for the X67c. You should be able to get it trough Lowrance no problem. Most retailers sell the X67c icefishing pack(Unit, Ice ducer, softpack), But I have not seen just the ice transducers in the stores.

If you need any more convincing to buy one I have the 68C same as the 67 just with the GPS option. I've only had it for this winter but to say the least it is truly amazing. I am looking forward to marking spots in summer and then easily finding them in winter. So far zero complaints.
