Rapala Electric Fillet Knives

Anybody own or have used the Rapala electric knives, the ones that are 120 volt or 12 volt.I was wondering if I should put this on the Christmas list!

Friend of mine at work just got one. Looks sweat. I like my American Angler. Going on 2 years with the same blade and no problems. I fillet a few fish too. I like the cig adaptor and the option to run off the truck or boat battery. Only drawback I see with the Rapala is its heavy.

Which american angler do you have? I am planning on gettting one for the father-in-law for Xmas. How is it for doing crappies and perch?

I've got one.. as does a friend of mine (who got me hooked on electric fillet knives in the first place)... and I love it. I've got the pack that is wired for 12V, which also comes with the 110 inverter... it's a handy tool when cleaning a mess of fish... I rarely use my regular knife any more...

Just curious,
I got one (American Angler) as a gift this summer but still have yet to use it. Would it work for cutting a deer up as long as I'm not going through bones?

Chris I have the 12 volt D.C. Model No.31001. It has a 18' cord and I can run it off my cig. lighter, truck battery or Boat battery. I bet ya could run it off a extra Vex battery too but I didnt try that yet. Perch and Crappie are where it shines. Doesnt get dull on all those scales like my reg. knifes. Practice slowly on the first few fish and in no time you will be using it 90% of the time. Great for long trips all year round. I paid less than $20 for it on clearance at G.M. Wally world has them too.

If you're old fashioned, do a google search for Leech Lake Knives. Sharpest fillet knife around, and you can't help but love the craftsmanship.

I personally have not used one but my brother in law has one and he likes it alot when cleaning a bunch of panfish. Merry Christmas.

I got one last year for christmas. The first one, I had problems with it. The switch stuck and I couldn't get it to turn off.

The manufacturer replaced it no questions asked and it's been great ever since.

Thankfully, I rec'd the knife as a X-mas present from my step-dad, but they are pricey.
