jackthedog
Just got back last night from DL. Travel with a four wheel drive pickup truck was pretty easy most everywhere it is usually safe to drive. Stayed at Woodland Resort and there is a really nice established trail from there heading in numerous directions. We had snowmobiles and they to were able to get us anywhere we needed to go. I would say there is less than a foot of snow on the ice with the exception of the drifts and the ice is about almost a full auger length thick. See my post under the Perch report (few posts below) for our fishing results. Any other questions feel free to ask and hopefully I can help! Good luck!!! Braley
Ditto! Got back to MT at 4:30 P.M. yesterday. Fished Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday. The roads and ice conditions were good when I left. I can't say enough good about Woodland Resort, nice place and very helpful. I hired Perch Patrol for the first day, since first visit to DL. They were also very helpful and friendly, even on my lone solo days they stopped buy several times and chatted. Ice is almost full auger depth, and in good shape. I did see though that at 9;30 last night it was still 36 degrees at DL, so the weather might be warming up. Bite for perch was tough at times, marking fish, getting them to look but hard to bite. Did okay the first two days, but they kicked my butt on the third.
