Skipping work

I skipped out on work this morning laugh.gif Went out and got 7 nice crappie and a little walleye. He was not the biggest but made a couple of the best fish sandwiches that I have had in quite some time! Came back home, logged in on the puter and they never missed me! The wonders of cell phones! I guess they could not hear the propane lantern running in the back ground! Oh well, good thing those ice busters do not make any noise when they go under or I would have been busted as I caught the walleye while I was on the phone! Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

I hate my job most of the time, so I figured if I could fish while I'm working, I might hate my job less. And, I was right. I was able to get out a lot more this year with a trailer. Next year I hope to have my office set up better in the trailer so I can fish even more. The boss doesn't mind as long as the job gets done.

The trailer has boat seats with posts and I plan on mounting a seat base on a small desk top that I can fasten to one of the posts and use as a desk. I also need a cord for the cell phone so it can't fall through the holes. The ultimate would be a laptop with a wireless web connection so I could send and receive messages out on the ice. I have two portable file boxes and a cabinet with office supplies now. I even conducted two employee reviews in the mobile office this year.

I told my boss when I was hired 3.5 years ago that I was going to try and have a mobile office within 3 years, and he liked the idea. He didn't know it would double as an ice fishing house!

The best idea if your wife will let you.I quit work 11 years ago and found the fishing and hunting are excellent in the middle of the week, problem being that you usually go yourself because everybody else is working, but it still beats working.

LEE Harvey, I'm working on that one. I've never skipped work during the winter for ice fishing but I have called in sick during the summer. Heh. Did so much fishing that whenever I'd close my eyes, I'd see bobbers going down. My dreams would have bobbers being pulled under water. Funny thing is, they never had fish coming out of the water at the end of my line. LOL.

Well I don't know that I want to fess up to exactly where I work. I oversee network infrastructure cable systems in a major retail stores new stores. Once I have the subs all lined up I become the interface between them and my customer. It is a lot of the 700 mile screwdriver stuff. If they run into a problem I work either with them to correct it of if it is needed I go to the customer for resolution... Either way when I answer that cell phone they have no idea where I am sitting at! Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Laptop. I wish some one on the edge of the lake had a wireless setup in their house... could tap into that! We have wireless in our house but have it secured so don't come round trying to tap into mine! The Lil Mrs does that kind of stuff for a living! Palms and such are nice IF you use them. I had a day planner that never planned and then I got a palm that never palmed so I just stick to the laptop. It has everything I need on it. Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
