Dragonfisherman
I was wondering if anyone has ever used these for crappies or gills? If so what size and color?
pathogen
I was curious about them and bought a few that I used this past weekend for 'gills. They performed very well, and were as good or maybe better than my go-to bait---the trusty forage minnow. The ones I used are about 1" long, not including the dropper and hook. I tipped them with maggots, waxies, or a minnow head and all worked well. The presentation I used was much like any other jigging lure I use. A couple of aggessive jigs, and then hold still or give a slight quiver. The fish hit it pretty aggressively, I will certainly be using them regularly in the future. Dragonfisherman
Thanks for the reply, I just picked up a few along with a chubby darter... Trying to use some new toys. The only thing that I could see that I might not like is the chains on the Hali jigs seem like they might break easy, but oh well.
pathogen
I had some concerns about the chains as well, but I gave the lure a pretty good workout before I even hit the water and came to the conclusion that they are a lot stronger than they look.
