jphersh22
I know there's about as many jigging rhythms for spoons as there are fisherman, but I was curious in finding out what works for you guys, especially for crappies. How high do you lift, how long do you pause, do you let it pause still or do you shake it?
CrappieJohn
Once I know fish are in an area,I like to verrrrry slowly jig "uphill". I jig ever so slightly and each second or so I raise the jig just a breath. When done in this fashion every hit is felt as opposed to jigging down where the line might go slack instead of feeling anything. there are times when downhilljigging is the only way to trigger the fish though, so several techniques are about as important to master as knowing when to down size or up size or when to use a vertaclajig as opposed to a horizontal jig.If you are in the hut by yourself get nuts and try all kinds of approaches to this jigging scheme. The lack of imagination is the greatest hinderence of any fisherman.
