Ice fishing down south

Does anybody know the southern most part of the country people are able to ice fish? I have to move to Missouri in a couple of weeks.

Chugger, I know they fish small waters in the northern most counties. I also know if you get as far south as Lake of the Ozarks they look at you funny if you even mention icefishing.

I know a couple people from MO and they are from the northern few counties. It will ice over once in a while maybe couple times a yr on small like cattle ponds and then dissapear again. They told me it can get up to 4" thick in a bad cold snap but nobody dares go out on it. Maybe it's just a MO thing?
