Strike Sensors for tip ups

Bought some strike sensors for tip-ups and used them today. Worked well the first 3 times and the fourth time it didnt. Seems when I plugged clip back in place the last time some water got on the spade that plugs in and it froze and then the flag tripped but couldnt remove spade from transmitter to set of alarm. Have others had this problem and would a little w-d-40 help,or any suggestions. Thanks

I don't know if it would work or not, but I'd try some dielectric grease.

it dosen't take much to freeze them up, but they are great tools for fishing. I usually just remove any water or melt any ice off with my fingers.
