Deitz Dittrich
I know its a long way away, but be sure you attend the I.C.E. event on Lake Minnetonka.. its on Feb 5th on Spring Park Bay... Ice Series Otherwise its really going to depend on what you are trying to catch. There are plenty of places on Minnetonka where winter access will allow you to walk out without a problem. Spring Park Bay, Phelps Bay, Arcola Bridge, Black Lake.. ect are jsut a few that hold plenty of fish. I would stop in at one of the bait shops out that way and ask where fish are biting.. I have always found Shorline Biat and Tackle to be very helpfull.
MinnetonkaRealtor
I didn't know there was going to be an FM event out on "THE BIG HOUSE" as I like to call Minnetonka. I'll be there for sure. Minnetonka is a big big lake and seems a little over-whelming to get around at first. Don't just limit yourself to the Public "Boat" accesses, as there really aren't too many of those. Go out from any of the beaches or parks around the lake, or even park across the street from the lake and crawl down the rocks out onto the lake. The more I've fished the lake, the better I've learned to be creative about getting on in new places. There are "NO PARKING" signs all over the place, but many are focused on summertime parking, they say "May 1st to Oct 1st" or something like that. I've also found that by calling the city office of these small towns is helpful. I've asked if it is ok to park at a given beach, and the nice people in the office said the police do not ticket the beaches during the winter. All along Hwy 15 there are places to park off the main road that will get you to areas that you'll want to fish. For the most part I do not drive on the lake, I just park at any of the above and walk it out to my spots.
