Fish Lake-Where is it safe?-Please Respond

I'm looking to ice fish on fish lake by Duluth this weekend, I was thinking of fishing the north side probably walking off of the North Fish Lake Boat Landing there is a spot i'd like to try about 100 yards or so from that landing. Please can anyone tell me if they've been on that side. If it's not safe there, where on fish can I go? Please post if you've been on fish lake recently. I'll be going on Saturday and Sunday. I'd like not to waste too much time to find where other people have been on the ice. I'm sure i'll see people out there when i get there but would like to plan ahead and have a game plan. gjboomer I would stay away from the public landing area for a bit. Weather isnt real good for ice lately. Rain, snow and a few 40 degree days has us behind. We are walking out of highbanks lately. Anwhere from 2" to 5". Bring a spud bar and a friend. Maybe a life vest. We will have several guys out this weekend up there. Keep a eye out on the Duluth forum. Thats your true time info.
