We are hosting the 2nd annual ice fishing tournament to benefit juvenile diabetes. This year it will be at rock creek lake by kellogg iowa on January 29th. $25 to enter per 2 man team. $250 to the winner. Also several raffles. Email me at [email protected] for an entry form.

THis is a fun time for anyone interested and not busy that weekend. I fished it last year and me and my partner took second. SHould be a good time again this year....if ice starts forming

I was looking at the DNR report from Rock Creek Lake and they have it listed primarily as a panfish lake. Is that everyone else's experience as well?

I work for a Christmas tree farmer this time of year over by Runnels who has some ponds on his ground. One of the ponds is very well shaded from the sun and it had put just light skim of ice on by Sturday morning and it even stuck around until the rain last night. It won't be to long, hopefuly.

Fished there this weekend. Ice was 8-10". Caught some gills, crappie, 1 walleye and a channel cat. There are still spots open for the tournament so contact me for an entry form at [email protected]
