Varmit loads for 30/.06

Hey, was wondering what the lightest load you can get for the 30.06 or flattest shooting, I use 165grains for deer. I'm not planning on trying to sell the hide or anything! Just want some plinging practice after the deer season! I could of swore I've seen them in the 125's in cabelas, but now I cant find them.

Hornady makes 30 cal bullets down to 100 gr.. Can't say for sure but you may have to reload for them. I'm not sure if they would be availablefrom the factory for the 06. Good luck

Remington makes a factory load with 55 gr. that sizzle out @ 5000 fps. They are called accelerators and encased in a platic cup, much like a sabot slug.

We've reloaded 30-06 with 110 grain hollowpoints for 'yote hunting. They scream out there and blow 'em up!

(for varmints only-I wouldn't use 'em for deer!)

JMN - I'll check around and see if gander or other places do and post. Also,a nice feature on something going 5000fps is that they will enter small and shread the inside without a exit hole, saving pelts!

thanks guys, I went to the Remington military site and e-mailed a guy, he said a 55grain bullet doesnt have enough pressure to be ejected out of my semi-auto. He said the deer hunting shells work fine. I've found 125's at cabelas now.
