mrmillelacs
just bought a king crow 16 foot crank down, with the wifes ok of course, long as i bring her with. My question is where are the best resorts to go out of on some different lakes? On lake of the woods the only one I know of is adrians, I dont know about the warroad area, and upper red you can go anywhere, but what about winnie? Anyone got any recommendations? How about some other walleye lakes? I know which ones on mille lacs will cater to you, ie; the red door being my favorite. I would appreciate any tips thanks. Tim O
Good to see that you got a new house.I plow a road out on Jessie lake that you can drive a pull behind on. You can even visit your old house. Dennys', The Pines, and Highbanks are the ones I have used on winni. Zipple Bay and Arensens on LOW. It won't be long now. We have had lows in the twenties and the water temp is around fifty.
Kaz
Mr. MillieLacs: I too have the K/C and go out of Adrian's evry year. In fact I have a place at W/P and take it out each time I'm up in the hard Ice Fishing. I pull mine out at first ice with a four wheeler and have had no problems what so ever. Brian will let you know where to plant it and they keep the road open all of the time, even if it's drifting, all for $5 a day. If you get into trouble and have a cell phome or marine radio, a simple call will get them out to help. I've been there for many years and feel the Gap area holds the most potential for being on fish. The river is stacked with Eye's now and as the winter starts I'm sure the fishing will be fantastic. I know there are other roads to go out on, and that's what is so nice about this type of house. It only takes me about 15 minutes from drive up to fishing, the most time is cutting the holes... And you can pull up stakes and hit on of the other places west toward Warroad in a matter of minutes. There are about 5 other plowed roads too within 20 miles of W/P. Check out the Resort locator on this site for locations and phone numbers Take it from one who has the K/C, you will love it on the ice and for camping to in the warmer seasons... Two deep cycle batteries and two 40# propane tanks will keep it going for a good and cold four day weekend... Enjoy...Kaz
