kfk
If any of you guys have a Bearcat 570 and have mounted an ice auger rack on it, I'd really appreciate photos or advice based upon your experiences. Thanks in advance.
ncesi
I just built this one to go into the 2" receiver on the back of the machine and used a digger auger bracket.
Chris Granrud
I have the boys at the clam corporation working on my 2013 Arctic Cat 570XT Auger rack right now. I need an auger rack to stay within the frame of my sled due to tight portages.... We are currently working on a scenario that would have my 2013 at the Minneapolis Ice Fishing extravaganza. Should this come to fruition I will gladly show and talk to everyone about my particular needs and solutions for keeping my guide gear on the suspension of my sled. This system will carry (2) Vexilar FL28's, Buddy Heaters, rods, 2 Big Foot thermal houses, scoop, bait, packable shovel and of course Clam Edge Auger. Portable fishing is our game up here. I would say the Easiest way to mount your auger would be off the front or back of the sled sideways. I just can't afford to have the head of the auger sitting outside the sled as it will not be a nice ramming rod. LOL!!
kfk
Thanks guys. I don't have a Bearcat XT, though, and it's slightly different than a XT.
CaptainMusky
My suggestion would be to get the front bumper for the bearcat and then install the digger carrier to it. Having the auger up front keeps it from getting caked with snow. Provided you dont have to deal with narrow situations this would work perfect. The digger mount should clamp to your rear bumper too even though its not an XT it should still work.
kfk
Thanks CaptainMusky. That's kinda what I've been leaning towards.
Lawrence Luoma
Digger is really the only way to go.
Valleye
They should change the name to "The Guillotine"! Can you post a picture with the auger on it? That would be interesting to see how it adapts to your ride.
Chris Granrud
The "Digger" auger rack or any rack off a front hitch or back hitch of your bearcat is definitely a nice option. I look forward to driving both of my Bearcats on the trailer without having to unhook a thing. Having the Auger in line with the snowmobile has it's advantages. Most of the guys up here have them designed that way in different configurations. My XT will have a Clam tub mounted on the back and the auger rack placed just over the tub and on a hinged system should you need to grab gear secured tightly under the rack. We are careful not to get too top heavy, but I really like a clear view with no extra width added to an already massive sled. The ability to drive both sleds on my trailer and simply strap them down with no unloading at a landing is an extra bonus. Lots of options boys!! All of these options get that auger on shocks!! That is truly a great idea.
kfk
I looked at my sled and I'm thinking the Digger Auger rack will mount on either the back hitch or even on the rails behind the second seat. I'm going to order one and when I get it, I'll have a better idea exactly where I'll mount it.
Charlie Mason
Nice post, just bought a 2006 Bearcat 570, strictly for ice fishing. Was also told Digger is the way to go when in Rogers back in October. Would love to be able to mount two augers, and my case of gear also
