Jim Kusuda
Wednesday really was a day to remember for late ice perch fishing on Mendota. Cloudy skies gave way to warm sunshine with very light wind. We fished near Second Point, then made a move over to the West basin. We saw schools over two inches thick on the 80 foot scale on the FL-20. Depth was around 65 fow. I really live for this. How big was the middle one? Over one pound on the certified scale at D+S Bait and Tackle. And please remember all of your ice safety gear and mental preparations for late ice conditions. Valleye
Jim, I've always wanted to see pictures of your Mendota Perch! I am impressed my friend. I'll have to come up and "Patrol" for the perch with you sometime.
Jim Kusuda
They are finished now, but next winter keep an eye on the Dane County sheriff's HSOforum for flotation inspection information and dates. We can attach my second Nebulus (or your own) to your BRP, run it through inspection on the trailer at $10 for three years after 7:30 am, then head over to Warner Park. Of course we will stop over at D+S Bait to say hello to Gene to get the inside scoop. Or Val, if you prefer, I can tie a rope around your wrists and have you walk "Rawhide" style behind my machine until you get dragged for miles!
