NILS Auger Question

I have a Nils Eight inch auger, I am switching to a six inch this year, and maybe this is dumb but I'd like to have a spare collar bolt, so do I need to get one directly from Nils or will one from the local hardware store work? If so, Does it need to be a special type metal?? Thanks in advance....

I went to the hardware store. Bring the handle and fine a metric nut. I used a tie rap and it is on the upper part of the handle

Thanks... I was thinking of taking the bolt I already have to match it up, just wondering if the metal is stainless steel or what...

Just grab a stainless steel bolt...all hardware stores sell stainless. Check your grade markings on the head, too, although not a huge deal.

   I think your talking of the allenhead  bolt for the power auger.    Yeah take it in and get a stainless bolt.

 I don't have the size but it is metric and uses a 10 mm allen wrench.
