Portable transducer mounts

openorice

Question

I'm looking for some input on portable transducer mounts. I use rental boats and I want to bring my own locator but I've had trouble finding good portable mounts for the transducer. I'm looking at upgrading my locator from a very old Humminbird to a 859ci DI combo.

Suction cup style is one alternative. Another alternative would be to mount the transducer/bracket to a board (Plastic, although wood most likely would do the job also) which in turn is c-clamped to the transom.

3 feet of 1x4 and a couple C-Clamps and you are done.

Put a safety cord, tied to the boat, just in case something comes loose.

My 1st graph, still have it, was a early Eagle(84) with the suction cup style.Did tie it to the boat for safety & eventually went to a cigarette lighter type plug in so it worked off the TM battery.
