fish_eat_sleep
Okay so I bought an 01 last june. Literally mint condition. Not a scratch, no visible wear. no damp spots underneath. literally showroom look and feel with 45,000mi. Im completely familiar with the small chips that develop in the Tan interiors especially. I figured the Fords chips would be easier to deal with than the Dashboard holes Dodges develop or the rattles and broken clips you find in some older Chevys.I replaced the ancient stereo with modern road trip features like Bluetooth, HD radio, and aux cord. In doing this, I created a few tiny chips while removing bits and pieces of interior trim. I know the stories of poor factory primer applications and the commonality of this happening but for some reason I can't find a shop that can do the work. The piece that is scratched the most would probably have to be stripped, primed, and painted as touch ups on a textured surface wouldn't go too well. I can't find any unscratched dashes in yards either. but maybe I'm not looking in the right places either. What have others tried with these older fords? fishing tech
Go to a local dealership and ask what day their interior touch up guy comes. Talk to him about fixing it. We had one that would show up 1 or 2 days a week and touch up dashes and stuff.
