Dan Erikson
Looking for info from anyone trolling with these weight systems. Just purchased some for next spring! They come with a nice 50/50 dive chart but that appears to only work for harnesses and other neutrally boyant baits. What about crank baits with a diving bill? My SR-7 is rated to travel at 8ft on a 50 ft lead from my board. Do I add that extra 8ft to the Guppy dive chart to get the approx. swim depth?? Dan Erikson
It's referred to as the OR 20 Pro Weight System that I would use as a clip on weight. Looks like Guppy was an incorrect name. I also saw the Tadpole system that is best used for harness fishing.
kfk
Dan,There is quite a bit of information on Offshore Tackle's site and you can also do a search of the 50/50 method for snap weights on the web. There is a ton of info and articles on the web for you to read and learn from. By the way, I use snap weights on #7 Shad Raps all the time. They work fine if you go with heavier weights.Good Luck!
