Bow Mount Connector Plug & Socket Question

I have been struggling for three years with a 4 prong twist lock plug and socket for my 24v PD2. It starts by randomly losing connection. Then I have to finess it into a connection. Yesterday while on the water it decided to not work at all.

I have replaced the plug twice and the socket once. It seems like it causes me trouble every year.

I would expect it to work longer at $60 per socket, $80 for the combo.

What are you using and how well does it work? Any suggestions on how to make this thing work or a replacement? I'm ready to hard wire the trolling motor out of frustration.

I have the one that came on the boat, looks like this

Except it and the matching receptacle have 4 wires (but you only need 2 anyway, just jumper the batteries in the battery compartment)

And it has worked fine since 1998

I use fork lift battery connectors from Grainger. They cost about $60 for a set and I've never had on e fail.

Thanks guys. I've thought about going the forklift connector route. Seems foolproof.

No one else has issues?

I have the marinco 12/24 style plug and the only time I had issues was when I didn't tighten down the unused screw. It shorter out the plug. Ever since I winched it down no issues with the new one going on 3rd year.
