Kyhl
I have been struggling for three years with a 4 prong twist lock plug and socket for my 24v PD2. It starts by randomly losing connection. Then I have to finess it into a connection. Yesterday while on the water it decided to not work at all.I have replaced the plug twice and the socket once. It seems like it causes me trouble every year.I would expect it to work longer at $60 per socket, $80 for the combo. What are you using and how well does it work? Any suggestions on how to make this thing work or a replacement? I'm ready to hard wire the trolling motor out of frustration.
delcecchi
I have the one that came on the boat, looks like this Except it and the matching receptacle have 4 wires (but you only need 2 anyway, just jumper the batteries in the battery compartment) And it has worked fine since 1998
Pat K
I use fork lift battery connectors from Grainger. They cost about $60 for a set and I've never had on e fail.
Kyhl
Thanks guys. I've thought about going the forklift connector route. Seems foolproof. No one else has issues?
CaptainMusky
I have the marinco 12/24 style plug and the only time I had issues was when I didn't tighten down the unused screw. It shorter out the plug. Ever since I winched it down no issues with the new one going on 3rd year.
