Fall Fishing in Superior Near Duluth for Trout and Salmon

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any suggestions for the sources of information on fall fishing on Superior for Trout and Salmon (historic best times, methods, etc.)? I'd be fishing in my own 20 ft. boat.

Thanks in advance.

kfk - check out the BWCA-Duluth Fishing report in the MN Fishing forum. Post this question there and you might be overwhelmed. For my money i would think you'd be able to do some very near shore fishing in the top 50-70 feet of the water column pulling spoons (call Marine General to get the latest or recent hot colors) with lead core and dipseys. If you have downriggers all the better. early morning and late evening obviously seem to be the best. This year, according to those that fished the big pond a lot, has been weird with the water setting up and cold winter. Kings have still been reported being caught near duluth and haven't really made the run up the shore as they have in the years past. Hope this helps.
