Benjy
I bought a new ice castle during the summer of 2012. LED lighting was just starting to take off then and ice castle hadn't incorporated that technology yet. Now of course most all of the new houses have LED lighting. I've looked all over the web trying to find replacement bulbs for the hole lights and 12 volt lights on the ceiling. Haven't found anything that works very well, and the ones I did find are super expensive. I can live with the non-LED lights but it sure would save on battery juice to find a decent LED substitute. I don't want to have to replace the entire light fixture if I can avoid it. Any suggestions?
Lip_Ripper Guy
Can you post pictures of your current fixtures? I've done a few conversions.
Benjy
Here are pics of my fixtures. Standard ice castle pictures from what I understand, at least for 2012 vintage.
skunked101
I just replaced mine picked them up at Milaca. Hole lights and ceiling lights just switched the bulbs for right around $60 they work great.
Lip_Ripper Guy
Those ceiling lights do have LED bulbs that just plug in. As mentioned you can get them from the Ice Castle dealer, or save some money and look online.I'm not sure if there is a bulb for the hole lights. You may want to swap those out for '2 SMD LED License Plate Light'-----Paste that into Google and look for the URL starting with Super. You'll be very happy with the energy savings you'll see by switching to LED. Nisswaguy
Hey Ripper,If a guy were to add those suggested hole lights, what do you use for a switch?
B-man715
I believe the hole lights are 1156
Smoker
They do make the LED lights for the hole lights. I got them from the on line shopping center.
Dozer
I hve the same ceiling lights in my house. They take a "T-10" base bulb. Go on E bay and search for "T-10 Led" you will come up with thousands of results. Im sure if you take your hole lights apart and figure out what bulb size they take you could do the same.Beware most of the Leds on E bay come from China or Hong Kong so it takes weeks for them to arrive. Lip_Ripper Guy
Hey Ripper,If a guy were to add those suggested hole lights, what do you use for a switch? I have my lights all wired to one switch at the front of my house. If you want to use a light by each hole, you can just use any sort of toggle-type switch. Chad Holst
Anyone know of a light fixture to look at on the big action site that would work for LED 12v lights to use for hole lights in our perm build we are doing. i cant find anything for under $20-$30 bucks a piece! Need 8 of them. Also looking for a good light for outside as an area light above the door, and 2 for under the wheel well for lighting the jacks and 1 for mounting to the front of the house for the hitch winch area. Ben626
I was just at Milaca unclaimed freight for $13.99 you can get two very bright led replacements that plug into your existing fixtures and use 3m tape to hold the light in place. You can also buy for $7.99 (I think) 4, replacement 9 led bulbs in a package. that would go into your single bulb type fixtures.
