Gan. Mount. Guide Series Ice Combo Review?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to purchase a new jigging set-up for walleye and crappies, and G. Mtn. (I don't remember if the forum has a rule against mentioning a store name--sorry) has their Guide Series Ice Combo on sale.

Has anyone had any experience with this combo?

I am a college student on a budget and this price is enticing.

Thanks for any help.

i have used these in the past, it a good entry level rod/reel. i used the light action rods for whitefish fishing when i first started out ice fishing. but for 20-25 bucks you can by a fenwick and use a small open water reel and have a much better combo. i used my perch reels on the fenwick rods for panfish and they work great. good luck.

I have a couple of the Guide Series in 28" med and medium light. No issues at all, I think they are a good, solid combo compared to most other brands sold as "combos" out there, which I normally would not consider. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. smile

I run a lot of the GSX combos from there I have never had an issue with them I have 9 at last count. I have one for about every use I have. I do own 2 TB, and a TUC, they are awesome but for the money it wasn't always an option for me. I think for a "budget" combo you will be quite happy.
