I just moved to St. Paul from Northern MN. Wondering where locally it would be a good place to hunt. I am not talking a lot of ducks/geese - but some what steady (its all about being out). I am very new to the area and have no idea roads or anything - all the help you can give would be rewarded with great stories (may not be true) and lunch after the morning hunt.

Buy your self a Minnesota Gazetter (If you don't already have one.) This is what I use to plan all my scouting.

You have carlos avery up 35W. And lots of options down Hwy 12 and Hwy 55 within an hours drive. You can also head south to the redwing area and hunt the river.

If you want to drive more than an hour. Your options are limit-less.

The Gazetter is the way to go.
