humminbird and terrova questions

Question

So, I just purchased my first boat! Now times for the accessories. Just have a few questions to make sure I am getting what I need. First off is I have been looking at a bird 858C finder. I see you can get side imagine down imaging and 360 imaging. Question is, if you get no imaging can you still see a rough sketch of the bottom just not the impressive sonar view? How important is the imaging to you guys? Any thoughts on a second cheaper bow mount finder? Also going to be getting the Terrova trolling motor, whats the difference between auto pilot and i pilot or do they mean the exact same thing?

thanks guys!

The 858C is a traditional 2d sonar. The 858DI has down imagine and the 898SI has side and down imaging. You will need a X98 model for 360 imaging. If you get no imaging you will just get the regular sonar.

SI/DI is very important to me.

Auto pilot is a feature where the trolling motor will keep you on a prescribed course, I pilot is a remot control that lets you run everything from anywhere in the boat, and also do things like record a track so you can fish the same course over and over again.
