garmin 62s problems

So I got the new garmin for Christmas and it seems to shut itself down a lot. Any ideas? I have looked on-line and a lot of people have had these issues without great fixes.

Have you downloaded any 3rd party ( Non Garmin ) maps? I ended up with one sometime ago that had bad data in it and it would lockup, reboot at will, so I had to hard reset my Garmin GPS and wipe out that map. After re-downloading and installing the map, it worked very well.

I know the 62s have a battery save mode in them too.

Garmin tech support is pretty good via email, they usually respond within 24 hours.

I have had mine for 2 years now. No problems with it shutting down other than the power save mode which can be adjusted. I haven't loaded any maps on it yet either. I will be purchasing the UMFG map in the near future. I definately would contact Garmin.
