HUMMER 55
I have found this to be the best way to go for a spring bobber, but im just checking if anyone else has a better one? These are especially nice for outside on the ice for pan fishing!! With 4 different weight wire compounds you can fit these to any size fish your looking for. You can clamp on and go or do like i did, j.b weld them on your rod and slip them in a rod sleeve and im all setup for different style fishing. they dont freeze up outside real bad either do to the loop size. if your interested in them email me at [email protected] i have a some spares as i bought a case of them a few years ago and will be moving so i'd like to clean house a bit.. Hawg
Some of the new rods are light enough to not need them. Check out Gary Roach's Peek A Boo rod. I sure like the one I bought.

FishinFools
I just bought some from a guy in Michigan. Have not tried them yet. Called "Lite Byte Spring Bobber". He has a facebook page and was on hsolist. I had an issue with one of them and I have not had any reply from him. it's like he went out of business, looking at his facebook page. blackdog1101
I've adapted most of my rods for the St. Croix spring bobber. I like it a lot, but I have to say that nearly $10 is excessive. I may start experimenting with other spring bobbers this season.

joedavis
How do you rig up your St Croix spring bobbers on non-st croix rods? Anyone want to share a picture?
Summett
How do you rig up your St Croix spring bobbers on non-st croix rods? Anyone want to share a picture? Here are instructions (found searching online) that i used when I made mine. Instead of using 2 part epoxy, i used heat shrink tubing after I super glued the guide in place.1. #8 one legged rod guide from local bait shop2. 1/8" ID rubber grommet from the local hardware store3. St. Croix Spring4. Super Glue and 2 part EpoxySuper glue the #8 one legged guide to the top of your rod tip. Once it is set mix up the epoxy and glue it up good and let it sit over night. Put the grommet in the one legged rod guide and slid the spring in and your all set. There may be other methods, but this is what i used. blackdog1101
How do you rig up your St Croix spring bobbers on non-st croix rods? Anyone want to share a picture? Like Summitt says, you need the #8 single leg fly guide, a 1/8" rubber grommet, and a St. Croix spring bobber. I wrap the guide on the tip of the rod with thread like you would any other guide, except upside down over the tip-top. I generally don't mess with epoxy, I generally use nail polish to seal the threads. Then once it's dry your can pop the grommet into the eye of the guide, and then put in the spring bobber.
