Does any one know were i can get a thermal clam nanook that IS NOT endorsed by jason mitchell???? or IS NOT a jason mitchell edition??? Tank Q

The Nanook is NOT available in a Jason Mitchell Version. The only Jason Mitchell models offered are the "Pro" and the "Thermal X"

im guessing thorn bros would have it and im sure there will be one at the expo this weekend. just curious why dont you want the jason mitchel one?
Bacause you prolly pay extra for the name. Either way jason mitchell would make exuberant amounts of money by just throwing his name on a product that hard working people like myself pay for. bad enuff i have to buy a clam product. I dont want his name on my stuff. nothing personal i just dont buy into that sort of thing.

because good houses from canvas craft are to expensive and just about ever other brand is junk, outside of sum frabills or large suitcase houses. i already have an thermal Nanook anyway. idk clams alright im satisfied with there houses so far especially the thermal rigs. I just wish they made a standard black modell like frabill.

I am thinking of going to the nanook thermal just for the lighter colored inside walls as I fish a lot after dark and the black inside does not reflect any light, am I missing something, are darker inside walls better? I don't spear I jig and bobber fish. Your thoughts?

The Jason Mitchell brand indicates it's a fish house with more features. It's a clam fish house on steroids.

OK, that's a bit over the top but hopefully you get the point.

it helps to see down the hole in daylight

You are spearing then? I am talking angling and have no need to look down a hole. I normally am setup at dusk or early morning fishing crappies in 18-40' depending on the time of year and the lake I am on.

I can see where if spearing than the darker the better but no interest in spearing.

he was talking about sight fishing(using a normal rod and reel) in shallow water. you look down the hole and watch the fish come in and bite your jig using only your eyes. I normal only sight fish on really clear lakes and in 10 feet of water or less.

ya it needs to be clear water. i usually do it in 10 to 16 ft iv never fished shallower than that on ice. its cool being able to see the fish down there iv done it since i was really young in permanent shacks covering the windows with card board and watching northerns come up in schools and pick witch rattle wheel they wanted and trying to coax the biggest one to strike. or if there was only one me and my buddy would fight to try to get it to hit our bait first. GOOD memories

on a side note do ppl ice fish shallow alot what are you targeting?

I have a 13' foot hole in a bay of a bigger lake I am heading to in about 15 minutes (hoping for enough ice!); that spot holds some early season crappies but only for a week or two then they move out to deeper water. Only shallow water I fish crappies is out of the boat in early spring up to spawn, other than that on the ice it is 18-40' depending on the time of year and the lake.
