Spotting Scope question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Thought I would post here since most of what I would use it for is looking at birds, usually waterfowl smile Don't have a spotting scope, but do have good binocs. I am wondering what a decent low/mid cost spotting scope might be...?...

I know that $$ usually means better with optics, but wondering if I can get decent spotting scope around the $200 range. I know decent is relative term, but have an ~$500 pair of binocs that are night and day above $200 pairs or $100, so wondering if I should keep saving to get better, or if about $200 should get me what I "want".

Looking for specific brands/models/sizes advice. I am not brand loyal, but I do have Burris binocs and Nikon scope, and like them both. I am not in the price range of Sworovski, unfortunately wink

I would also use for checking targets at range, and maybe in deer blind but mainly for looking at ducks a decent ways away. Weight would not really be a factor, but a window mount would be nice if they are recommended. Thanks for any info and advice.
