LwnmwnMan2
I received the ICS updatefor my Maxx. Now my local radar loop doesn't work on my Maxx. The extended range works, but not local. Anyone else have this issue?
LMITOUT
Are you using the android browser or Chrome mobile browser? If you are using the stock browser it should work. Maybe install Flash? With the browser open click the menu button/icon and try selecting "Enable Flash Player".Chrome does not support Flash and the radar loop doesn't work. Sucks, too, because I like the Chrome mobile browser. It's all Apple's fault.
LwnmwnMan2
I don't see anywhere in the browser settings to enable flash.I'm downloading Chrome as we speak.Last week I tried downloading Chrome but it said it was unavailable for my Maxx???Now it's downloading, so I'll see if that works. LMITOUT
Chrome will not work for radar loops on the NWS site.I also have "view desktop site" checked as well in the stock browser.Maybe try installing Flash?
LMITOUT
Post a link here to the page you are trying to load. Just want to make sure we're talking the same thing. Perhaps you are trying to load a different radar than what works on my browser.

LwnmwnMan2
I did uninstall Adobe Flash and.Chrome, reinstalled Flash and did a power cycle. LMITOUT
Yes, Chrome on the PC is fine. Chrome for mobile, not so much since Adobe isn't supporting Flash anymore so Google didn't bother making it compatible. Don't know why you had to do the uninstall/install dance, but maybe it would have worked with just a reboot after installing Flash.Chrome is still my go to browser on my phone, but if I want to look at mobile radar I just open an app like Rainy Days instead. The other option was to go to the NWS mobile site on Chrome and that radar loop would work. However, the NWS did a makeover of both their desktop and mobile sites and now the radar on the mobile site doesn't have a loop option. It is still new so I would assume it'll be available eventually.
LwnmwnMan2
Right. I downloaded Radar Now but now that the stock browser works, I'll no longer worry about it.My email didn't work after the update earlier, but over lunch I figured out the new settings. Not sure if I like ICS yet or not. Kyhl
Doh! I use Dolphin HD for my browser and ICS nerfed the loop for me too. Great, just great. Fixed. Thanks for the heads up about missing Adobe Flash. Installed and up and running. Looks like there is some rain moving this this afternoon too. Kyhl
Here is another brilliant move by VZ.Included in the ICS update for Razr's was the removal of simple menu's that can turn off 4G.The 4G radio interferes with my headphone amplifier. The solution has been to turn off 4G when I want to listen to music.VZ's ICS just made this very complicated. As a work around, there is an app that get's you to a screen where you can control which radios are on.So if you want to turn off the 4G radio which is usually done to conserve battery life, install the app LTE OnOFF-HTC Thunderbolt from the app store. This app will get you into the menus to turn on/off radios in the phone.
LMITOUT
My dad had to do the same thing with his RAZR after the update.
CJH
Couldn't you just put it in airplane mode? (Assuming the media is stored on the phone vs streaming)
LMITOUT
Turning off the 4G radio is a good idea anytime, not just when listening to tunes, if there is no 4G signal. It is a battery hog to say the least. A buddy has the Rezound and after an update his battery wouldn't last until noon. Found out that one of the things the update did was enable 4G. At least he still had the option of turning it off without using an app, but I wonder what'll happen when he gets ICS.

Apparently there were apps that were turning on/off GPS and other systems themselves, and causing security issues. I've had ICS since December and it took about a month for me to get used to it, now I hardly even notice it anymore.
Kyhl
Couldn't you just put it in airplane mode? (Assuming the media is stored on the phone vs streaming) I use audiogalxy to stream from my home music server. Gives me access to my entire digitized music collection anywhere that my phone gets data, boat, car, work, etc.Besides, .mp3's would eat up all of my phones memory at nearly 60G and growing. CJH
Gotcha, that makes sense. I understand, as I have about 50GB's of music, which also keeps growing. I'll have to check into that.I haven't noticed any problems with the ICS update on my RAZR MAXX yet. I like all of the improvements so far, especially being able to resize the widgets how you want them. Its always a little frustrating having to relearn things, and find where settings moved too, but that's all forgotten once you get the hang of it.
