Guest
I am going on a fishing trip around the detroit lakes area in mid september, this will be the 3rd year in a row I will have gone. I have caught numerous bass and northerns on spinnerbaits, worms and phat rats. It is a small lake and around 50 feet deep with lots of lilly pads. I know there are some large northerns in this lake but I have yet to top 7 lbs.Any suggestions on what I could try or use to land some trophy pike??Thanks for any help,Junkbait
8-Ball
How 'bout some 4-5" tube jigs in say a white if its a dirty lake or green/black if a clear lake, tipped with a shiner? I have had good luck going this route, and the big esox are deep now, so you need at least a 1/2 oz. jig to get it down there. Drop it to bottom and slowly jig up/down.... Good luck. The Grebe
If you are'nt opposed to live bait, a big decoy sucker minnow, as big as you can get, or as big as your tackle can handle, a quick strike set up and wait em out!
