dhpfish
Was out yesterday and ended up hitting some rocks on the motor and now the motor will not shift into the forward gear. It starts fine in neutral and will shift into reverse. I disconnected the push pull able that connects to the shifter and tried to manually shift it into forward, but it just wont go. The motor is a two stroke 1997 70hp Yamaha. The prop and skeg got pretty scraped up. I am going to call my insurance agent tomorrow to see what they recommend and if it is covered. Any ideas of what might be wrong or where to take it around the south metro area would be appreciated?

dhpfish
The boat is in the shop currently and just got off the phone with they guy and he said they took the lower unit off and internally there is no damage, but it still wont shift when they put it back on. He was going to call Yamaha to see what they say. Anybody know were to get a schematic of this motor or have any ideas of what it could be? Thanks,David
