guyonacouch
So, I just installed a Humminbird 586c to replace the Lowrance X87 that came with my boat when I bought it this spring. I moved the x87 to the bow and now I'm having issues with it. It worked fine before I moved it but the issue I'm having now is that it will work fine and then out of nowhere the depth starts flashing and then the depth jumps up to 300-1000 feet and just keeps increasing. I can restart the unit and it will work fine again for 5 minutes and then go back to the problems. I did move the transducer to mount the new one, but it seems to work fine until it just decides to think I've found a 1000 ft hole. Any thoughts besides buying a new transducer? Thanks. LakeTahoe
i would bet money, the only fix is buying a new transducer. Those problems sound exactly like a bad transducer. Classic older lowrance issue.
