crappiegetter
Didn't know where to post this one. But I was wondering how you figure out what size trailer would be the best fit for a boat? The trailer that my boat is on now seems a bit to small, first clue was the previous owners before me cut the tongue and added angle iron in to give it another foot and a half. So I know its too short for my boat. Also the trailer frame is a bit twisted and the welds are starting to crack, so its time for a new one or a nice used one. Looking on the list is getting a bit frustrating not knowing how the boat would sit on it.
marine_man
You need to find out how heavy your boat / motor / gear is first. If your old trailer has the certification plate on it, it might have it's dry weight. Weigh your whole rig, subtract your trailer weight and you have a ball park idea of where you need to be.The weight of your rig is the primary governing factor to the size of trailer you need.marine_man
