Musky lakes?

Recommended Posts

We are planning a trip this September to Vermilion, we are just in question if it's worth the drive or should we go to Leech, Cass or other lakes. There will be 5-6 of us and none of us have fished Vermilion before. All we've heard is how nice it is and how the muskie fishing is so awesome.
I've fished LOW several times and is Vermilion similar? What should we look for? Rocks, weeds?
Thanks for any help.

Vermillion is very underrated and yet, holds some big fish. Yes, focus on those areas. I lke the Pike Bay area.

Cass is becoming a great lake and Leech has always been good. Mille Lacs will produce the next world record. I like all of them, but you cannot beat Vermillion for the scenery....That is where I am headed in August!

we plan on being there the weekend before the big tourny. $1300.00 is to rich for my blood. I can't afford the all the tackle it takes to fish for muskies, but I spend it anyways. LoL!!!
Anyways someone give my a few pointers on where to find some of these fish in Vermilion. I'm looking for more quanity then for quality fish. Although I won't mind putting a 50+ inch fish in the boat.
Thanks

You will see 100+ boats showing you the where, when and how of finding the Muskies on the V.

The week before the contest, you will have everyone up pre-fishing and they will run and gun all day looking for any spots that will hold fish for the tourny week.

You might want to wait for your first trip to the V. That week the fish will be pressured and the lake will be busy.

Overall The V is one of the best lakes in the country, well worth the trip.
