fishnowworknever
So I'm replacing my power drive with a terrova, the old mount that was on there doesn't work so I bought a new minnkota quick release. The old one was screwed in with 3/8" x 2" screws. This new one has nuts and bolts. Here is my problem, when I look under the bow I have this flotation foam in the way. Do I really need/want to cut that out? There is plywood underneath the bow which the old mount was screwed into. It's a fiberglass boat btw. Thanks for any input. This first one is looking up underneath the bow, I'm guessing it's 6-8" thick. One of the screws used to hold the old mount
fishnowworknever
I guess I'll cut it out then replace it.
PerchJerker
Since you have access to the underside, I would use bolts and nylock nuts and the biggest fender washes you can find. Usually this will give you a tight, solid mount to the sprayed in flotation after you tighten the nuts and bolts. Might want to give that a shot before trying to cut out the flotation.
