Found this nest of wasps coming out to sun themselves on Barn Bluff in Red Wing this morning while we were rock climbing. We moved spots...

I wanted a super close up shot of them but didn't dare stick my camera lens right up to the ball of wasps. I stood back a couple feet and let the zoom do its job. I used a Panasonic Lumix FZ40.

I am dead scared of wasps! that was actually so brave of you to be able to capture such photo! not a lot would dare take a photo of such dangerous insects that is why your subject is very unique,making it more interesting. keep up the good work! looking forward to more thrilling pictures from your posts!
