J Boo
I was looking at buying a new rod for muskie fishing this year. Thorne Brothers has All Star rods that I kind of like and I was wondering if anyone uses them and if they like them. Thanks
RuKiddingMe
I have never used one myself, but i've heard great things about them, all I own is St.Croix, maybe next year i'll try and pick up a All Star. Good LuckCheck out the Muskies 101 site maybe a better price.Matt
Wildlineman
I have also heard good things about All Star rods but have not purchased any. I use St. Croix rods exclusively since I can build them for a cheap price. I have also heard great things about Fig Rig rods. If I'm not mistaken they are made in Grand Rapids MN. They are based off Diamond rod blanks. I plan on building a Diamond rod later this year so I can see what all the hype is about.Good LuckShayne

Guest
I have a few loomis and love those. I have a fig rig and I love that. And an American Premier and love that. If your looking for something that is less expensive then the loomis', but just as good, go with the fig rig. Sorry I don't have any personal experience about the All Stars, but I have heard great things about them.MJB
Guest
Nice rods them ALL Stars! We use everything from Custom made Country Kats to the Compre's and St. Croix, Rizo, Bass pro, Fenwick, Cabelas, all kinds of rods. They all work and as some do things differently and are lighter or more tough. They all catch fish if you use them to toss the right lure in the right spot at the right time.Pays to buy the best in the long run, but the low end stuff still does the trick.Matching up what you throw to the rod is very important and also what kind of fish you hunt?We got big head, wide shoulder, arm busters, so I beef up!Like a feel of a good twig in me hands!Funny thing to see what one company calls XHF or MH or even H for that matter. Then compare it to the same claim on a different company rod that reads XHF, MH or H.Wow!Some will do, but most are no more than flipp'en sticks with a Big Buck Tag!They will work in some cases, but not good all round choices?Shop around and use what works for you and forget the lable and the trands!Have fun time shopping and breaking the new one in.You find you don't like it, bring it up to me and we can try to get some use out of it.LOL Have great Holiday weekend.
