lungdeflator
Anybody ever hunt in Ontario? Guided or DIY input would be helpful. Looking to do a DIY whitetail hunt there next year, but dont really know were to start or what to look for up there. Any input appreciated thanks! Black_Bay
Download a copy of their hunting regs first. There are some areas that nonresidents need a guide.
BRULEDRIFTER
Yeah, i was under the impression you had to hire a guide as a NR up in Canada, eh?!
jerkin'm
You do need a guide in some areas. The area around Nestor Falls you don't and it is getting pretty popular. I don't want to disappoint, but I think the area has been getting hammered. The resort we go to fish has guided hunts and the deer have gotten substantially smaller the last couple years. There are a lot of resorts that cater to deer hunters and you don't necessarily have to hire their guides.
lungdeflator
Yea theres areas that require a guide such as along the rainy river district. We go shed hunting up there and have noticed a decline in numbers the last 4-5 years. But it would still be fun. Probably going to look into clearcuts and other more open areas. Sounds like a fairly lengthy gun season so a few trips up from Bemidji wouldnt be out of the question
