Strikemaster Auger question

Hello all, a friend of mine has a Strike Master Cobra auger from a few years back and needs a new gas cap cause his is leaking. Will any gas cap for a Strike Master work? Or any auger gas cap for that matter? Thanks for the info!

Is it leaking from the airbreather or the cap?

Easily fixed under the breather with an O ring and the cap can be fixed with a piece of new cork.

Cheaper than buying a new cap.

Thanks for the tip! I believe he said it was under the cap and the air breather hole as well. I mentioned the O ring option and he seemed to want to pay for something he may not have needed in the whole cap.

My Stirkemaster had the O ring on the breather screw and it leaked all the time. Strikemaseter sent me a whole package of the 0 rings. A couple of years after I had bought it I was at Strikemaster in Big Lake to get a carb adjustment and I mentioned it. They gave me a new gas cap N/C and have not had a problem since. They knew that the leakage was an issue. I'd give them a call.

i am sure you can still get the gas cap. I know last year they still had the old plastic cap on there web site. If it is the old metal cap you may have better luck getting it from a small engine shop that sells parts for that engine. Not sure if sm has that part still. Give them a buzz they have great custmer service. If they dont have it they will know who will.
